Cookies on a public page

Opening a public page on GratuityGuide sets no cookie. There is no analytics cookie and no advertising cookie. Orracle Enterprises operates the site. This description was checked against the code on October 24, 2026.

The draft-preview cookie

The preview route sets one cookie, __prerender_bypass, only after an editor presents the correct secret. It is an httpOnly, Secure cookie for the whole site. It lets that editor see unpublished pages, and leaving preview removes it. Reading calculators, guides or this page does not set it. The code sets no expiry, so the cookie lasts for the browser session.

Calculator history in local storage

Local storage is not a cookie. The standard tip calculators save each calculation in your browser's local storage, under the name gg-calc-history, when the tip is more than zero. The restaurant and bill-split calculators do not. Each record holds the calculator you used, the numbers you entered, the result, the time and the currency. Your browser keeps the newest 20 records, and this site never receives them.

Open Recent Calculations on the calculator to delete one row, or use Clear History to remove them all. You can also clear site data in your browser. The privacy policy describes the same records.

Consent

The site does not show a cookie consent banner. Public pages do not set a cookie that would call for one. The draft-preview cookie is set for an editor who presents a valid secret, not for someone reading the site.

Scripts and typefaces

The pages do not load Google Analytics, a tag manager or an advertising script, and they do not request fonts from Google. Typefaces are served from this site.

Links to social sites and share buttons are ordinary links. Choosing one leaves this site. The page does not load that site's code while you are reading.
